How it works
Three things, done properly
Find a machine that is working, bring the bag, scan the voucher it prints. Everything else the app does is in service of those three.
Find a machine
The Machines tab is a map and a list of return points, nearest first once you allow location. Each one shows what people reported in the last day: working, broken, full, out of vouchers — and whether there was a queue.
Tap a machine for directions, and tap a report button when you get there. Thirty seconds of your time saves the next person a wasted trip. Know a machine that is not on the map? Tell us in Settings › About, and we add it once it has been checked.
- Works offline: the list always, the map too with Offline map on
- Your location never leaves the phone
- Reports are anonymous
Scan the voucher
The machine prints a slip with a barcode and a value. Point the camera at it and the app keeps both, along with where you were and, if you like, how many containers went in.
At the till, open the voucher and the barcode fills the screen on white. Mark it redeemed afterwards and it moves to the past. The paper is still the voucher — the app is the copy you will not lose.
- Camera scan, or type the digits
- Full-screen barcode for the till
- Duplicates are caught before they are saved
Watch it add up
Home shows what came back this month, what is still in unredeemed vouchers, and the months before. The Deposits tab is a calculator for the bag by the door — 15c for the small ones, 25c for the big ones — and a plain list of what the machine takes.
- Totals by month, from your own vouchers
- The deposit tiers, kept current
- What is accepted and what is refused
What the app will never do
- Issue, replace or redeem a voucher — only the shop can
- Send your vouchers anywhere
- Track where you go
- Show you an ad
Your next voucher takes ten seconds
